2) What's the main question being asked or hypothesis being tested in this study? How do perceptions of threat, feelings of hope, and strategic thinking relate to prosocial behaviors (social distancing, donations to medical charities) during the COVID-19 pandemic?
3) Describe the key dependent variable(s) specifying how they will be measured. 1. Prosocial behavioral intentions (following new social distancing regulations)
2. Binary choice - keep $0.50 vs. donate them to medical charity
4) How many and which conditions will participants be assigned to? Correlational design
5) Specify exactly which analyses you will conduct to examine the main question/hypothesis. We will use simple correlations, linear, curvilinear, and logistic regressions to analyze the associations between the study variables.
6) Describe exactly how outliers will be defined and handled, and your precise rule(s) for excluding observations. We will exclude participants who attempt to complete the study twice or more.
7) How many observations will be collected or what will determine sample size? No need to justify decision, but be precise about exactly how the number will be determined. We will open the study to 1000 participants.
