Terms of Use
- All AsPredicted submissions remain private until actively a participating author (an author who actively approved it through the system) generates a PDF with a shareable URL.
- No changes can be made to a pre-registration once it has been created, except to update email addresses of a participating author.
- We have several algorithms that routinely run analyses on private and public submissions seeking to identify possible abuse and errors. When a pattern deserving closer attention is identified, members of the AsPredicted team are notified and at least one member reads portions or the totality of the suspected submissions.
- If no benign explanation is identified, the pre-registration may be deleted, or blocked. The authors may also be blocked to prevent them from creating additional pre-registrations.
- Currently there is no search function for public pre-registrations; thus, even public pre-registrations are only viewable by those who know the corresponding URL or who search for them on an external search engine (e.g., Google). This may change in the future without notice. Moreover, no action is taken to prevent third parties (e.g., search engines) from indexing public pre-registrations. Authors should assume that eventually every pre-registration they create a shareable PDF for will be findable via a web search.
- AsPredicted.org may share the entire stock of public pre-registrations with 3rd parties upon request, for example, with researchers conducting meta-science research on pre-registrations.
- AsPredited.org will not share private pre-registrations with 3rd parties, except in the context of formal investigations of academic misconduct by a university or granting agency, of if required by law.
- Public pre-registrations are automatically and permanently archived in the webarchive.org
